Segregate the whole task into different phases and set hierarchy for each phase say a basic preparation phase, finishing exteriors, finishing interiors, enhancing interiors with furniture and other detailing.
First of all, clean the dollhouse and smooth all in and outs with a fine 00 grade glasspaper. Then fill in all fissures and cavities with inner plaster filler, use an orange stick for better results, leave it to dry and smooth again
Always apply primer before painting walls. Choose suitable combinations of colours. Next task is to paint or varnish doors and windows. Paint exterior door first and fix all the door furniture carefully.
Light fittings shall be fixed meticulously. Conceal all wirings under carpets or wallpapers. Fix all the staircases and lay floorings in all rooms. For final touch up use enhancements like borders, dado rail, skirting, doors and window frame etc. Finally take a quick look of the entire dollhouse and check if something has skipped your sight.
