Vinyl to Vinyl Border Adhesive
A safe water based adhesive specially formulated to overcome
the difficult task of gluing small vinyl borders and wainscot
to vinyl doll house wall paper in the Decorator Packs. Apply
a thin coat to border or wainscot with brush or sponge and
install with light pressure. Cleanup is with warm soapy water.
Hints, Helps and Suggestions for Deco Packs
Measure your room dimensions. The paper measures 11”
and most rooms are 10” high, which gives you extra paper
to match patterns and designs. Don’t forget to check
right side up and upside down. After each side wall is cut
to size, mark doors, windows, etc. It’s easier to cut
them flat. Remember, measure twice, cut once. It’s better
to locate cutouts in the middle of the paper rather than near
the edge as this will prevent the paper from pulling away
or curling. The doll house wall paper is pre-pasted. Dip the
paper in a tray of water and allow the glue to activate 5
to 7 minutes.
Install paper and sponge bubbles out with light pressure.
Install the wainscot the same way. Wainscot paper measures
3 ½” and can be trimmed to 3” to match
patterns and designs. The borders are next and you can switch
them around as you please. What’s next? Inc. also makes
a special adhesive for the borders called “Vinyl to
Vinyl Border Adhesive”. It is specially formulated for
gluing the small borders and wainscot to the vinyl doll house
wallpaper. It is available from your dealer. We suggest applying
the adhesive with a small sponge or brush.
Tips from Doll house Miniatures Magazine:
Miniature wallpaper is available in solids, prints, and even
murals in a variety of colors and scales. Some types of wallpapers
even have coordinating fabric and carpets.
To make doll house wall paper resistant to fingerprints and
easier to clean, spray the doll house wallpaper with Krylon
matte fixative before cutting it to size.
The surface for the doll house wallpaper should be perfectly
smooth. Fill imperfections with wood filler and sand the surface
smooth. If the wall is rough, apply two or three coats of
gesso (a primer used by artists), sanding between each coat.
And here the papers with a spray adhesive or miniature doll
house wall paper mucilage, a creamy paste. After the doll
house wallpaper is in place, smooth the surface with a damp
sponge or brayer (roller) to remove air bubbles or excess
paste.
