The dollhouse as the name suggests, is a toy home which is made in a miniature form. Throughout the last century, dollhouses have essentially been the domain of children. However adults as well, of late have taken immense interest in doll houses. The reason for this sudden change may lie in the miniaturized set-up of doll houses.

Miniature doll houses of present time trace their history to the products of four hundred years ago. Those products were called as Europe's "baby houses". These products were cabinet display cases which were made up of rooms. These predecessors of miniature doll houses were built with architectural details. The "baby houses" were packed with diverse miniature household items. These items were exclusively used as the adult toys.
