Tips from Dollhouse
Miniatures Magazine:
Miniature wallpaper is available in solids, prints, and
even murals in a variety of colors and scales. Some types
of wallpaper even have coordinating fabric and carpets.
To make wallpaper resistant to fingerprints and easier
to clean, spray the wallpaper with Krylon matte fixative
before cutting it to size.
The surface for the wallpaper should be perfectly smooth.
Fill imperfections with wood filler and sand the surface
smooth. If the wall is rough, apply two or three coats
of gesso (a primer used by artists), sanding between
each coat. Adhere the paper with a spray adhesive or
miniature wallpaper mucilage, a creamy paste. After
the wallpaper is in place, smooth the surface with a
damp sponge or brayer (roller) to remove air bubbles
or excess paste.
